Yesterday Nic found out that we will be starting radiation treatments today! I have such mixed feelings about the radiation. On one hand I'm so happy that we are starting today. Let's start this and get it over with! 5 weeks of treatment - 25 treatments. Fatigue will be our greatest side effect with the radiation.
We are currently at UW Hospital receiving treatment 2 of the Avastin. This treatment is 60 minutes. Our next treatments will be 3o minutes...in and out (minus the 90 minute drive it takes us to get here!)
Nic's strength is gaining daily. He had some blurry vision yesterday and some racing thoughts, but all in all, things are going good. Dr. Robins is even starting to decrease his oral decadron (since they call Avastin "Super Decadron").
One foot in front of the other...one day after the next. Each day I'm learning to live by those two simple thoughts. Some days are much better than others. Today, I realize I'm blessed to have another day with the man of my dreams. My hero. My strength.
